DESCRIPTION:We will be knocking doors in Burnsville to talk to voters about what issues are on their minds\, how we can best advocate for them as we head into the midterms\, and whether they’d be interested in joining us by getting involved with the local DFL party. This is not traditional door knocking where we’re encouraging people to support a specific candidate\, but these conversations are crucial as we start to build capacity for our BLUE WAVE next year! \nA brief (~20 min) training is provided and new canvassers will always be paired with someone more experienced\, so don’t fear if you’ve never knocked doors before! We also have water\, sunscreen\, and snacks on hand. Door knocking is typically a 1.5-2 hour commitment. \nIt may seem silly\, but studies have shown that knocking on doors and meeting voters directly is one of the most effective ways to ensure that people stay engaged in their communities and vote in elections. We hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to participate in Precinct Caucus and Convention Training on Saturday January 10\, 2026 from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm taking place in person at the Urban Latino Event Center\, 3997 West 143 Street\, Savage\, MN. \nDFL Senate District 55 will present Precinct Caucus and Convention training and discuss the importance of attending your Precinct Caucus\, held on Tuesday February 3\, 2026. The training location is accessible and provides plenty of parking. It is located behind the Subway Restaurant on County Road 42 in Savage. \nThe training will provide information to help prepare you for the biennial Precinct Caucus\, where you will meet other DFLers in Burnsville and Savage and candidates running for elected office in Minnesota and the U.S. Congress. At the caucus you will hear and vote on issues that may ultimately become resolutions to the State DFL Platform\, elect new Precinct leadership\, and may become a Delegate to the upcoming DFL SD55 Convention where decisions regarding our future will be made. \n\nA light lunch break will be provided by the Senate District (or you may bring your own special needs food).\nThere are no fees or costs to attend this training.\nThere will be no child care provided.\n\nWe ask for your RSVP as soon as you can so we can properly prepare for your attendance. DESCRIPTION:Join our friends at the Minnesota Immigrant Movement (MIM) for a fundraiser in support of their Rent Assistance Program. The fundraiser will be a screening of the film “BORDERLAND | The Line Within” by Pamela Yates and Paco de Onís. Following the film\, Producer Paco de Onís will join via zoom for a live Q&A session with the audience. \nABOUT THE FILM: Director Pamela Yates and Producer Paco de Onís capture the lives of immigrants coming from Venezuela seeking refuge from a violent culture. \n\nThe United States border is not just a geographic location. The border is everywhere. It lies within every undocumented immigrant family with the threat that at any moment they can be captured\, incarcerated\, deported; their lives destroyed. BORDERLAND | The Line Within not only exposes the profitable business of immigration and its human cost\, but weaves together the stories of immigrant heroines and heroes resisting and showing a way forward\, intent on building a movement in the shadow of the border industrial complex\, recognizing the human rights of all. \nBy donating and attending this film screening\, you will are supporting our community with rent assistance. There will be a Silent Art Auction showcasing works created by Minnesota immigrant artists. \nMinnesota Immigrant Movement continues to show up during these traumatic and difficult times for our communities through rent support\, food assistance\, rapid response\, and DOPA Application assistance.
