Republicans are the ONLY ones responsible for this shutdown. \nBut there is something you can do! Join us to rally outside of the Northfield Allina Clinic to show Trump and the GOP – Minnesotans deserve healthcare!!! \nWe will meet on the sidewalk outside of the Northfield Allina. \nBring your own signs to show the GOP know how harmful their votes in Congress are to our community. Also bring your friends and family! \nWe will follow up with additional parking information. DESCRIPTION:Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets\, carried by millions in chants and on posters\, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares\, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together. \nThe president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America\, we don’t have kings\, and we won’t back down against chaos\, corruption\, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us. \nA core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind\, including those legally permitted\, should not be brought to events. \nStart making your signs\, my friends! We will all meet at noon Saturday\, Oct. 18\, at 126th and Nicollet (in front of the park by the Ames Center and Mediterranean Cruise). Lots of nearby parking\, very accessible for all ages! SUMMARY:Burnsville Issues Door Knock
DESCRIPTION:We will be knocking doors in Burnsville to talk to voters about what issues are on their minds\, how we can best advocate for them as we head into the midterms\, and whether they’d be interested in joining us by getting involved with the local DFL party. This is not traditional door knocking where we’re encouraging people to support a specific candidate\, but these conversations are crucial as we start to build capacity for our BLUE WAVE next year! \nA brief (~20 min) training is provided and new canvassers will always be paired with someone more experienced\, so don’t fear if you’ve never knocked doors before! We also have water\, sunscreen\, and snacks on hand. Door knocking is typically a 1.5-2 hour commitment. \nIt may seem silly\, but studies have shown that knocking on doors and meeting voters directly is one of the most effective ways to ensure that people stay engaged in their communities and vote in elections. We hope to see you there!
