The SD-55 Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party declares its support for a Minnesota Senator that has a strong record of being a champion of the labor movement, whether by being a consistent steadfast advocate of organized labor and the working Minnesotan in the face of growing corporate power or being an active member of the labor movement themself. American labor built the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party and we cannot forget where we came from and who propelled this party to being the champion of working Minnesotans that it has become, electing people like Amy Klobuchar, Keith Ellison, Peggy Flanagan, Steve Simon, and Kaela Berg.

To show support for our friends and siblings in labor, we call for a progressive, pro-labor nominee to be our next U.S. Senator or an open primary in next year’s special election to allow DFLers to vote for their next senator themselves.
